Bill Sander
There is serious work to be done in Denver. Being a Delegate to the National Convention is a high honor, but it brings the solemn and arduous obligation to work tenaciously to ensure that proper actions are taken.
Barack Obama has won a majority of pledged delegates, a majority of States, and a majority of the legitimate popular vote. He has earned the Nomination, but the runner up is refusing to concede this fact, and in so doing is endangering the General Election. Three major areas of decision are crucial.
I pledge to you all to diligently work for these goals, with sensitivity, tact, resolve, and energy. I have the enthusiasm of youth. I have just had it for many years. I am a senior citizen who has been active since the sixties in civil rights, anti-imperialist war efforts, and progressive Democratic Party activities. I recognize, probably more than most, just how vital this election is. The future is promising, but precarious. We have tremendous needs domestically, and America must find a new role in a World we can no longer dominate. We can become the beacon to a World hungry for leadership and inspiration. Barack Obama is uniquely qualified to bring this to pass.
I humbly ask you to let me help to bring this about. Please elect me as an Obama Delegate. This is a tough job, if done properly, but one I am eager to undertake. I will not disappoint you. Please give me your support.
